It's hard to watch the Philadelphia Eagles do anything that falls under the umbrella of philanthropy or building team camaraderie without smiling. This past Saturday, they did both as several Birds took their talents to the baseball diamond to do work at a celebrity softball game.

DeVonta Smith invited some of his teammates and several of his other friends out to Allentown, Pennsylvania. They obliged, and the results, as you might expect, were phenomenal.

Eagles news: Dallas Goedert shows off his swing during the opening home-run derby en route to another successful DeVonta Smith celebrity softball game.

His second in as many years, DeVonta Smith's Celebrity Softball Game brought out the stars and raised money for Saint Luke's Hospital and Iron Pigs charities. DeVonta Smith and Washington Commanders stars Jahan Dotson were the team captains. Check out the lineups below.

The festivities began with a home-run derby, one that was won by the game's best tight end, Dallas Goedert. Wait! Did that sound biased?

TE1 won the gold bat after launching eight homers during the final round of a three-round derby. That includes three he smashed during his final 15 seconds of the event. He also cranked out five homers in Round 1 and three more in Round 2.

Team Smith took this one over Team Dotson by a 14-5 final score. We got to see some good baseball over at Citizens Bank Park as well, on Friday and Sunday we mean.

Sunday ended our weekends on a high note as the Philadelphia Phillies bounced back from a Saturday afternoon 9-0 shutout loss to the Dodgers with a 7-3 victory over that same Los Angeles team on Sunday. The win gave the Phils two in the three-game series.

Things seem to be turning, but if they find themselves in a pitch later on during the summer, calling Dallas Goedert, A.J. Brown, and Jalen Hurts might do some good. We saw the latter two launch a couple with the Phils at their batting practice not too long ago. Hey, don't expect any complaints from us if they get hot again late.
