At the time of this story's release, it's Wednesday and lunchtime approaches. We'll have to grab a quick sandwich because there's so much going on. It's been a little less than three days since Jalen Hurts' final scramble toppled the Buffalo Bills in overtime. The Philadelphia Eagles practice today. We should receive our first injury report at about 4 pm EST or so. A game versus the San Francisco 49ers is a little over four days from now.

It's going to be an interesting week. As always, there are injuries to discuss. A franchise legend is set to call it a career, and Philly's head of security, Dom DiSandro, picked up a very interesting fellow at the airport a little earlier.

Eagles news: DeSean Jackson will retire as an Eagle, serve as an honorary captain vs. 49ers.

DeSean Jackson's final game wasn't played in Philly. He wasn't wearing an Eagles jersey when he did so. Make no mistake about it though. He's an Eagle through and through. D-Jax, during two separate stints, started 100 of 101 games in a Birds jersey. That includes six postseason games.

He has suited up for five other NFL teams during his career. On Sunday, he comes home. Jackson will retire as an Eagle and serve as an honorary captain during Week 13's game versus the 49ers.

Eagles social media issued its thank yous.

He's the greatest deep threat in NFL history. Jerry Rice is the only person who has more 50-yard touchdown receptions on his resume. He hauled in 36. Jackson collected 34. No one has more TD receptions of 60 yards or more though. D-Jax owns 26 of those. Jerry Rice has 22.

Jackson's final TD reception as an Eagle was a bomb caught versus the Cowboys. Make no mistake. He's one of us. He always will be. On Sunday, that becomes official when he calls it a career.

More Eagles news: Zach Cunningham will miss, at minumum, Sunday's game versus 49ers

From legendary Eagles to those on the current roster, let's talk about Philly's linebacker corps. Nakobe Dean is still hurt. Zach Cunningham, per Jeff McLane, will miss this week's game because of the hamstring strain he suffered in Week 12. He may be out even longer.

He was replaced in the lineup by Christian Elliss. That figures to be the case again on Sunday because a very popular recently-released free agent is still making decisions about where he wants to land.

Even more Eagles news: Shaquille Leonard arrives in Philly.

Jeff McLane's report also stated the following: Free agent linebacker Shaq Leonard is visiting the Eagles today to work out and get a physical.

NBC Sports Philly's John Clark captured a shot of Philly's head of security picking him up from the airport.

It would seem a reach for him to play Sunday even if he signs this week. Leonard visited the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday and is expected to make a decision about where he wants to play over the weekend. Might Philly be interested?
