Eagles news: Landon Dickerson expected to miss minimal time despite thumb surgery

Another loss comes a couple of days after Monday Night Football. Thankfully there's some good news.

Welp! It was fun while it lasted. The Philadelphia Eagles got off to a nice start in the Pacific Northwest, but it wouldn't last. They couldn't get much else accomplished during the remainder of the first half and most of the second. The result was yet another loss. This one came at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks, Philly's third misstep in December.

It was an ugly loss. The good guys surrendered a 92-yard drive with less than two minutes remaining, one spearheaded by Drew Lock... Drew Lock!

Philly's offense failed to eclipse the 20-point threshold for the third consecutive game, but it appears another loss has come ahead of their 'get right' game versus the New York Giants. Landon Dickerson is injured.

Eagles news: Landon Dickerson is expected to miss minimal time despite needing a medical procedure.

Okay, consider this one of those 'good news/bad news' scenarios. The bad news is NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports that Landon Dickerson is scheduled to have thumb surgery five days ahead of Christmas. Some present huh? The good news is he isn't expected to miss an extended time, and he won't have to be placed on the injured reserve.

He has started all 14 of the Eagles' games this season. He made the Pro Bowl last season. Let's hope he's back for the NFL Playoffs. The Birds should be fine without him though (we hope).

Philly finishes with the three games, a battle versus the Arizona Cardinals sandwiched between two tilts with the Giants. Philly should be favored in all three.

The best chance of winning probably comes with Landon in the lineup, but the Eagles should be able to come out on top without him... we hope.
