Eagles QB Jalen Hurts will gut it out versus Commanders despite reported knee bruise
The Philadelphia Eagles are in Landover. The opponent is a familiar one, the Washington Commanders. The goals are simple. Walk out with a Week 8 win, and walk out as healthy as possible.
Many are confident that the first order of business is attainable, but the Birds have been battered. They've been juggling bodies pretty much all season.
All eyes have been on Jalen Hurts since we saw him limping in the first half of last week's Sunday Night Football game. Then, news broke that he wore a brace in the second half, and he has been dealing with something for at least two weeks or more.
It's never hard to find reasons to shine the spotlight on QB1, but when he's wounded, it's impossible not to do so.
FOX Sports' Jay Glazer provides an update on Jalen Hurts.
Ahead of the Eagles' Week 8 clash with the Commanders, FOX Sports' Jay Glazer provided an update on the pregame show.
He says Jalen Hurts has a “knee bruise, sort of like a bone bruise”. He also reports Philly's star signal-caller has been dealing with it for about four weeks. Apparently, a hit last week re-aggravated it, but from what he's hearing, Jalen should be able to play through. He should be fine.
Here's where we stand. We're happy that this isn't as serious as some may have imagined, even though it's hard to discuss a bone bruise and say it isn't serious.
However, if there was ever a reason to abandon that damn quarterback draw, this would be the reason. Mission number one has to be keeping QB1 upright.
