What a difference a year makes. The entire 2022 offseason saw a debate that isn't being argued anymore. The biggest question about a potentially powerful Philadelphia Eagles roster was about whether or not Jalen Hurts could ascend and take the reigns as this proud franchise's long-term answer at quarterback moving forward. There isn't a Birds fan in the Delaware Valley or anywhere else on Planet Earth that doesn't know how things turned out. Fast forward to the present, and the hits keep on coming.

Philly's QB1 was the runner-up for the NFL's MVP trophy last season. He earned a Pro Bowl nod, won a Bert Bell Award, and inked a massive extension. He even co-starred alongside Teyana Taylor. This past weekend, he earned another honor.

Jalen Hurts wins at BET Awards and is named Sportsman of the Year.

This past weekend, BET Networks blessed the airwaves this past Sunday with the 50th annual BET Awards. Jalen Hurts was nominated for the Sportsman of the Year Award along with the following sports stars:

  • Aaron Judge
  • Bubba Wallace
  • Gervonta Davis
  • LeBron James
  • Patrick Mahomes
  • Steph Curry

Good for you Mr. Hurts! He deserves that. Again, last offseason was a trial by fire for QB1. We dissected him every way that you can examine someone.

He proved the doubters wrong (we weren't among them). He showcased a skillset that demonstrates that he has all of the tools to play football at its highest level. Here's the best part. He hasn't reached his ceiling yet. It's going to be tons of fun to watch his career unfold. This is Jalen Hurts' time.
