The goal at every Philadelphia Eagles training camp practice is a familiar one. Keep everyone upright and as healthy as possible. Get to Week 1 of the NFL regular season with as few names on the injury report as possible. League offices have done their part to put as many safety tools in place as they can. Every team, knowing one or two injuries can change the course of a season, exercises caution. There's just one problem.

This is football. People are going to get injured.

The Birds reported to the NovaCare Complex on Tuesday, July 23rd and began practicing the next day. They took Friday and Sunday off, but they are still having to juggle a few bodies.

Cooper DeJean and Shaquan Davis sit on the Active/Non-Football Injury list. Sydney Brown sits on their Active/Physically Unable to Perform list. Le'Raven Clark is hanging out on their injured reserve, and a few guys are sitting out of practice.

The Eagles sit four players for Monday's practice including Lane Johnson while another, a rookie, leaves with an injury.

Brett Toth, after missing a couple of practice sessions with a hamstring issue, returned to the field on Monday, but he only did so in a limited capacity. Saquon Barkley sat out for personal reasons. Oren Burks missed a third consecutive session (knee). Lane Johnson (toe) and Tyler Steen (ankle) also sat out. That opened the door for some young guys to get more reps.

2024 fifth-round draftee Trevor Keegan was one of those guys. There's a problem. He left the practice field with a trainer. He appears to have suffered an arm injury. He returned but didn't continue practicing.

Keegan was voted First-Team All-Big Ten in 2022 and a Second-Team All-Big Ten nod in 2023. He became a College Football Playoff national champion last season. Let's hope he doesn't miss too much time.
