Intriguing story surfaces about Eagles rookie Jalen Carter and a broken blocking sled
Had the media been allowed to attend the first day of Philadelphia Eagles OTAs (organized team activities), there's a possibility that Twitter may have been broken. None of us were. That comes on Thursday, but anything related to one of the NFL's most beloved and storied franchises can't be hidden from one of the most loyal fan bases on Planet Earth for long.
Thank goodness for the men and women who work tirelessly to bring us the goods on a day-in and day-out basis. The Philly Talk Podcast, a must-watch led by its creator, Philly Mike, most certainly qualifies. Stop what you are doing. Visit his page, and make sure you hit the subscribe button immediately.
Following Tuesday's first OTA session, he invited Eagles Insider Dave Spadaro on for a chat. Check out the full airing below, but hold on a second. Did we hear something correctly?
Eagles rookie Jalen Carter broke a blocking sled at rookie minicamp.
Don't adjust the monitors on your laptop or desktop screens. There's no need to restart your phones. This isn't a drill. Yes, per Dave Spadaro via the Philly Talk Podcast, Jalen Carter broke a blocking sled during Philly's rookie minicamp. Why have we not been blessed with this information before? Check out the full clip below.
All jokes aside, let's all calm down for a second. This probably isn't the first time this has happened, nor does it mean Jalen Carter is on a collision course with the Pro Football Hall of Fame. You have to admit this is interesting though.
The most recent offseason has been a tough one for the rookie. We don't have to remind anyone of everything that has transpired, but here's what we will say.
The Eagles have done their due diligence. We have seen several of his former and current teammates go to bat for him. We'll take them at their word about what they are saying. If Jalen Carter passes the eyeball test of the people that know him best, we're on board with what they have to say about him.
Everything we're hearing says 'so far, so good'. And, don't forget about something. We're talking about practice man... not a game... practice. Sorry, we couldn't resist.
On a serious note, and here's where we'll leave things for now, all reports state that Jalen has shown up for work in better shape. That alone should make for a good night's sleep. Frankly, we believe there isn't anything to worry about.
