What a night! It wasn't perfect, but the Philadelphia Eagles earned a hard-fought win in Brazil. That means they guaranteed themselves a happy flight home. As for the rest of us, we've earned a pair of stress-free Sundays. The Birds' next game won't be until Monday Night Football in Week 2.

That gives us one or two more days to break down Philly's clash with the Green Bay Packers before we put that behind us and move on to discussing the Atlanta Falcons.

One of the things we were curious about was how Vic Fangio might deploy Quinyon Mitchell. With a game in the books and a 1-0 start to the Eagles season, we may have been given our answer.

Isaiah Rodgers sat this one out. Quinyon started across from Darius Slay. Neither should hang their head over how they performed.

Slay logged 67 snaps, 100% of Philly's total. 37 of those were coverage snaps. He allowed two receptions for 15 yards and a 97.9 passer rating.

Mitchell turned in a phenomenal performance of his own. Just how good was he? Well, we're glad you asked the question.

Here's a deeper look at Quinyon Mitchell's Week 1 performance.

Mitchell logged 63 defensive snaps in his Eagles debut. That equates to 94% of the unit's total. He logged another nine snaps on special teams, which we're sure Vic Fangio and Michael Clay appreciated. The result?

Five tackles were logged. Four of those were of the solo variety.

The Pack tested the 22nd-overall selection early as Jordan Love attempted to go deep to Christian Watkins. That one was broken up. Quinyon made sure he let Watson hear about it.

It looks like all of those reps versus AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith are paying off, but don't miss another key detail here. Quinyon ran step for step with Watson and can probably keep up with anyone.

Watson ran a 4.36-second 40-yard dash at the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine. Mitchell ran his a little faster, logging a 4.33-second 40 during the most recent combine in 2024.

In addition, Quinyon logged another pass breakup in his first NFL game. He saw 35 coverage snaps in the opener.

He hauled in four receptions on nine targets tossed in his direction. That resulted in 60 yards of offense for the Packers and a 66.9 passer rating when he was targeted.

That's pretty impressive for a rookie, and we'll take it. Wonder what he'll do for an encore.
