Eagles score rare red-zone TD, courtesy of Dallas Goedert on National Tight Ends Day
The Jalen Hurts to Dallas Goedert connection is sizzling for the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football. It's National Tight Ends Day in the NFL, and offensive coordinator Brian Johnson, Jalen Hurts, and Philly's TE1 definitely got the memo.
With just over 11 minutes remaining in the first quarter, the Birds have had the ball three times. The second drive ended with a turnover. The first produced three points. The third led Philly to the end zone.
Dallas Goedert during those three drives snagged four receptions for 67 yards. His first reception was a pretty 22 yarder to generate a first down. The fourth went to the house to produce a rare Eagles passing TD.
Check out both.
Hmmm... Maybe the screen pass does work sometimes. Dallas Goedert is cooking. He's headed for a big night at Lincoln Financial Field.
Damn those kelly green jerseys are awesome!! Here's the best part. Philly delivered an A-1 performance and walked out of this one with the victory. They held the vaunted Miami Dolphins offensive attack to ten points. Keep in mind the fact that the Fins' lone TD in the second half came by way of a pick-six interception.
Three more red zone scores were earned in this one. Jalen Hurts found A.J. Brown. The Brotherly Shove produced another score, and Kenneth Gainwell showed off his nose for the end zone.
Check out all three scores.
Four red zone TDs? Yeah... Don't expect any complaints from us. You most certainly won't find any.
