Three Philadelphia Eagles in three very different situations have a lot on their minds with the weekend approaching. So do the rest of us.

The Birds' second preseason game was a lengthy affair, one that lasted just under three and a half hours. Part of the reason for that was Moro Ojomo and Tyrie Cleveland spent time being stabilized on the field of play after being injured during the action.

Zech McPhearson also left by way of a medical cart, and we have been feverishly checking on them every ten to 15 minutes in an attempt to hear an update. Finally, we have been given a few.

According to PhiladelphiaEagles.com, Cleveland and Ojomo sustained serious injuries but are expected to be okay in time. McPhearson will recover as well, but unfortunately, we won't see him as quickly as we see his other teammates.

The Eagles share some good news about Tyrie Cleveland and Moro Ojomo. Zech McPhearson's injury will end his season, but this isn't the end of the world.

As mentioned earlier, McPhearson, Cleveland, and Ojomo entered the 2023 NFL offseason in three different situations. Zech McPhearson was entering the third year of a four-year rookie deal he signed after being taken in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He was also expected to be the top candidate to back up Philly's starting slot corner Avonte Maddox.

Ojomo was a seventh-round selection drafted this past April. Cleveland joined the Birds practice squad in January. None were assured of roster spots as the 2023 offseason began. PhiladelphiaEagles.com released the following statement on Friday afternoon.

"In last night's game against the Cleveland Browns, Eagles WR Tyrie Cleveland and DT Moro Ojomo both suffered injuries that required immediate treatment on the field. The Philadelphia Eagles medical team exercised an abundance of caution as it took the necessary steps in the care of the players to ensure the best possible outcome for their health and wellbeing. Both players were responsive and had full function in all extremities while on the field. Cleveland has since been diagnosed with a concussion and neck sprain, while Ojomo has been diagnosed with a concussion. We commend our medical team for quickly diagnosing each player's condition and acting with precision as they administered care. A full recovery for both players is expected in due time."

The news about McPhearson wasn't as promising and confirms what some of us feared. CBS Sports' Cody Benjamin reports he is expected to miss at least seven to eight months of action but is in good spirits and expects to return sooner than expected.

Philly also lost Josh Andrews to an ankle injury versus the Browns. We await further details and will update everyone when those are available. Nolan Smith and Olamide Zaccheaus both sustained shoulder injuries and were kept out of action as a precaution. It appears they will be fine as well.

From what we hear, Smith tried to re-enter the game in the second half. Thankfully, hs coaches wouldn't allow him to do so.
