Eagles star Jalen Hurts isn't short of a few fans in Brazil
The citizens of Brazil are singing that Sunday Night Football theme. The Philadelphia Eagles vs Green Bay Packers Week 1 clash won't be played on Sunday. It's the lone game to be played on a Friday evening. That alone is strange. The audience won't see Carrie Underwood performing the opening theme song, but the NFL took care of us. We get a Super Bowl-level halftime show, one that will feature Brazilian pop star Anitta.
Brazil is ready for football. They've waited all summer for it. We won't have to wait too much longer for the game, but even though this is the first NFL contest to be played in such a beautiful country, many miles away, the backdrop for a clash between two proud franchises is settling into its pep rally.
Jalen Hurts' likeness is seen in a beautiful Brazilian mural.
There may not be a more recognizable position in all of sports than the one occupied by a quarterback. They are given more credit than they deserve. They take blame when it is unearned. There's a camera on them before every play and after that play's completion.
Two of the game's top young signal-callers face off in this Eagles-Packers showdown. Jalen Hurts leads the Birds. Jordan Love leads The Pack, and trust us. The word has seemingly gotten out.
That's pretty cool, right? As mentioned earlier, we won't have to wait too much longer for the festivities.
Jalen Hurts is 34-17 as a starter. Jordan Love is the owner of a 9-9 record, but the Packers seemed to arrive during last season's NFC Playoffs.
Both have the same mission in mind. Secure a win in Week 1. Only one will achieve his goal.
We probably don't have to tell you this, but we'll be cheering for the guys in Philly. A 1-0 start is just what the doctor ordered. Besides, that's a long flight home if you wind up the loser.
