Eagles versus Dolphins: Reasonable requests, bold expectations for Sunday Night Football
The Eagles versus Dolphins game is loaded with intriguing subplots and fascinating storylines.
They don't meet often. Unless the Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins qualify for a Super Bowl appearance in the same season, we're only guaranteed that they'll cross paths once every four years. Their last meeting came in 2019. The Fins took that one and lead the all-time series by a 9-6 margin. They have also won two games in a row versus our Birds.
Miami, as you know, also visits Lincoln Financial Field in Week 7 for Sunday Night Football. They're the owners of the AFC East's best record (5-1). They have been impressive, particularly on offense. Still, as fans will often do, there have been questions about the level of competition that they have faced.
Miami's five wins have come against the Carolina Panthers, New York Giants, Denver Broncos, New England Patriots, and L.A. Chargers. That isn't exactly awe-inspiring, and had Philly crafted their mark versus the same teams, the narrative would be that 'they haven't played anyone.
The Birds are wearing their alternate/throwback kelly green jerseys. They are favored to win this game, but regardless of how you value the Fins (or even if you don't) the Eagles aren't guaranteed anything in this one.
