Eagles vs Patriots inactives, injuries tracker: It's time to ruin Tom Brady appreciation day
If it feels like it has been seven months since the Philadelphia Eagles have played a football game, that's because it has been, minus a couple of days of course. As fun as last season was (until the end), none of that matters now. Philly's task is to play a balancing act, building off of the most recent campaign while simultaneously placing it in the rearview mirror. The goal, on the other hand, is obvious. Get back to football's biggest stage and WIN.
During his career, Tom Brady met the Philadelphia Eagles on football's biggest stage twice. He won the first time. He lost the second time. Our favorite memories of him will forever be Brandon Graham stripping him of the football in Super Bowl LII and watching him sit on the turf staring off in the opposite direction.
Week 1's game doubles as a battle between the Birds and his New England Patriots in Foxborough, one where he will be honored. We could care less about that. All we want is an Eagles victory and a 1-0 start to the regular season.
Eagles versus Patriots inactives:
The Eagles' injury report featured two names on Friday, those belonging to Josh Jobe and Mario Goodrich. Both were working their way back from illnesses. Both were full participants on Friday.
The Patriots' most recent injury report had seven names on it: offensive tackle Trent Brown (illness), cornerback Jack Jones (hamstring), guard Mike Onwenu (ankle), wide receiver DeVante Parker (ankle), guard Cole Strange (knee), quarterback Matt Corral (absent but uninjured), and Rhamondre Stevenson (illness).
Brown had no game designation. Jack Jones is out for Sunday's game. Onwenu, Parker, Strange, Corral, and Stevenson were all questionable on Friday. Let's talk about game day inactives.
Philly and New England announced their Week 1 inactives 90 minutes before kickoff. They are as follows:
We heard rumors that Rashaad Penny might sit this one out. That appears to be true. Here's a look at Philly and New England's inactives.
