Eagles will open season without one of their prized offseason acquisitions

Well, you kind of know how this works by now, don't you? This is the Philadelphia Eagles for Heaven's sake. We're talking about one of the most popular teams in all of sports. When has it ever been simply about the game? News of the Birds flying overseas won't go unnoticed, especially if they're doing so without one of their moat talked about offseason additions.

Philly shared its second injury report two days ahead of their first tussle of the regular season. One of its details was hard to notice.

Devin White isn't traveling with the team to São Paulo, Brazil. He's still recovering from an ankle injury, and by virtue of him being limited during practice on Tuesday and sitting out on Wednesday, he has been ruled out of Friday night's game versus the Green Bay Packers.

Nakobe Dean was already expected to start for the Eagles, but Devin White's injury makes that official.

As you can see Isaiah Rodgers was a limited participant due to a hand injury. AJ Brown and Landon Dickerson enjoyed veterans' rest days, but as for the second level of Philly's defense, they are officially down a man. Be encouraged though. That also means many have been given their wish.

Some have been banging the Nakobe Dean drum for a while now, and for good reason. There's some good news to report. He's in by virtue of White's absence. He is also expected to start alongside Zack Baun, but a recent report says he was in line to start anyway.

Both are intriguing breakout candidates in Vic Fangio's defense and while we didn't expect to scream 'Next man up' this early, we're confident they will make positive impacts (and hopefully splash plays).
