Fever dream scenarios involving the Eagles during their 2023 NFL campaign

We have a lot of high hopes for the Eagles' 2023 season. Let's take a look at some of the highest (and most unhinged).

All of those Georgia Bulldogs pay immediate dividends for the Philadelphia Eagles defense.

The Eagles are now home to five players who were members of the Georgia Bulldogs defense in 2021. Jordan Davis and Nakobe Dean were selected during the 2022 NFL Draft. Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith, and Kelee Ringo were added during the most recent selection meeting in 2023.

As collegiate teammates, these guys were members of a defensive machine, one that allowed only 10.2 points per game and 2021 and brought its school its first National Championship in over 20 years. That Georgia defense wasn’t just a good defense, it was the BEST defense in college football. Might we see that translate? We hope so!

If we’re seeing a combination of these guys (specifically Dean, Davis, Carter, and Smith) and they roll in the same manner that they did in college, life is going to be really, really, really good. Nakobe Dean is going to be a huge key to all of this. We know he’s not a huge imposing physical presence on the field, but he’s got a couple of things that are going to help him: a year's experience in the NFL at the professional level, and he'll be playing behind a handful of guys that he's familiar with. Hopefully, Sean Desai and the Birds coaching staff can recreate what Georgia did.

Dean has put himself in a really good spot this year. He is capable of being a good player. The same can be said for Davis, Carter, and Smith. If things manifest as we are hoping, watching this defense operate is going to be like taking a shot at a Pink Floyd concert. You’re going to see the sweet, sweet beautiful music baby.
