One day, we hope we can sit with former Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Brian Johnson and pick his brain about the 2023-2024 season and what's been a whirlwind for him in the aftermath. That will have to wait though. For now, we'll have to settle for discussions about the next chapter in his coaching journey.

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Johnson is landing with one of the Birds' divisional rivals to accept a "prominent offensive staff role". He'll travel down I-95 South and call the DMV home. He's now a member of the Washington Commanders organizaton.

It's been a long and winding road for Brian Johnson, but hopefully the former Eagles OC has found solid footing.

NFL Insider Jordan Schultz had previously reported that Johnson would interview with the Commanders. He'll certainly have some nice pieces to work with on his side of the football, most notably Terry McLaurin. The 2022 Pro Bowler figures to get a few passes thrown in his direction as Johnson attempts to gain some traction.

Johnson has had a busy offseason. Three NFL teams requested to sit with him for head-coaching vacancies shortly after the Eagles season ended. the Tennessee Titans, the Atlanta Falcons, and the Carolina Panthers. Carolina backed out. There seemingly wasn't much coming from the other opportunities as well.

The NFL's coaching carousel continues to spin. Add Johnson's name to the list of new hires. We wish him the best (except for on gamedays and the Commanders' games versus the Eagles).
