Truth be told, we miss Greg Ward. When we think of that Super Bowl-winning Philadelphia Eagles team or discuss them, his name probably won't come up, but thanks to his service on the practice squad, he has a ring for the trophy case. He also, no doubt, has a few stories that he can sit in the rocking chair one day and tell the grandchildren.

He wasn't rocked up like A.J. Brown. The truth is he probably never will be. He never made a Pro Bowl roster or ran routes like DeVonta Smith... But, then again, who does?

Greg Ward finds a new home with the Indianapolis Colts.

We first met Greg when he was signed by Philly as an undrafted free agent on May 11th, 2017. He was waived on September 2nd, 2017 which would, in many ways, be a familiar theme during his stay here.

He was released and re-signed so many times that we have lost count. And, frankly, we don't feel like doing the research and trying to count how many times this happened. Let's just say it was a lot. Yep... This happened a bunch of times.

He spent some time with the now-defunct Alliance of American Football's San Antonio Commanders. He returned to Philly when the league disbanded. We most remember him for a game-winning catch versus Washington.

Greg's tale is one of being labeled as the underdog, a guy who was often the sixth or seventh guy on a depth chart when the plan was to keep only six wideouts on the regular-season roster. The Birds always seemingly had guys that they valued more than they valued him.

Sure, he had the drop at MetLife Stadium (we think it was MetLife), but more often than not, he made the most of the opportunity when the ball came his way. It's for that reason that we love him. We wish you the best Greg. Now, go make the team in Indy!
