At long last, we need only kick our feet up and watch a game. We deserve that, and so do you. We took a Super Bowl loss on the chin, and now, it's time to go back to work. That's funny... We said that like we play for the Philadelphia Eagles.

The pain the Birds felt from losing football's biggest game, whether we want to believe this or not, was much tougher than anything a fan could experience. They cleaned out lockers, eventually returned, and here we are, hours from game time.

The long climb back begins with an 18-week, 17-game affair. The playoffs will follow, but it isn't time to talk about that yet. Right now, the goal is to win one game, then another, and so on. Stading in the way is the great Bill Belichick and a team that you may have heard of.

Who are the Eagles playing this week?

Week 1 should be a lot of fun. The Eagles face the Patriots. These two have quite the history, albeit a short one.

Who won the last matchup?

These two haven't played in a while, but the Patriots took a November meeting in 2019 by a 17-10 margin. That narrowed Philly's slim lead in the all-time series to an 8-7 tally. Prior to that, the Birds had taken the previous two meetings. These two have also met in the Super Bowl twice with both sides claiming one victory.

Eagles next five games

Philly won't get a ton of rest after this one. They return home to face the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday Night Football in Week 2. As was the case last season, the Eagles' bout with the Vikes doubles as their home opener. This time, the game will air on Amazon Prime.

Here's the full list of Philadelphia's next five games.

  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers (AWAY) - September 25th, 7:15 p.m. EST
