Who would have thought a preseason game could be so much fun? Had a regular-season affair ended as Week 1's Philadelphia Eagles vs Baltimore Ravens tilt did, we'd be screaming 'instant classic'. Then again, if this was the regular season we were discussing, Baltimore probably wouldn't have pushed the issue so deep into their own territory.

The game doesn't count against Philly's win-loss total, but credit Patrick Johnson for giving us his best Brandon Graham impression. His strip-sack gave Jake Elliott a second chance at a potential game-winner after Jake had missed one a few seconds earlier.

It's funny we're mentioning Graham. His most famous play came on football's biggest stage versus the New England Patriots. Here we are in Week 2. The Birds will share one joint practice session with those Pats same Pats before these proud franchises meet for a preseason game on Thursday.

Well, they aren't exactly the same two teams. The coaches have changed. So have many of the players. Oh well, Jake and B.G. are still on the Eagles roster, so we're happy.

Eagles vs. Patriots Game Time

The Eagles and Patriots renew acquaintances at 7 pm EST on August 15. Mark your calendars and settle in front pf a television to view this one.

Eagles vs. Patriots Location:

This is the second Eagles road game. They'll rock out in Foxborough at Gillette Stadium before Philly returns to the City of Brotherly Love to host the Minnesota Vikings in the preseason finale.

Eagles vs. Patriots Streaming and TV:

This one can be viewed by tuning into NBC10 in Philly or on NFL Network if you live outside that viewing area. We recommend Fubo TV for viewing. They offer free trials for new subscribers if you are interested.

Eagles vs. Patriots Odds:

At the time of this story's release, DraftKings favors the hometown Patriots by 2.5 points. The moneyline at 6 am EST on August 13 was -148 for the Pats versus +124 for Philly. The OVER/UNDER was 36.5 points at that time.

What to Watch for in Eagles vs. Patriots Game

We thought we'd get a series from the starters during the Week 1 preseason affair. A wet playing surface forced the Eagles coaching staff to change their minds about that decision. We're less confident that we'll see the starters on Thursday.

Kenny Pickett and Tanner McKee split snaps at the quarterback position. The latter ran with the guys on the bottom half of the roster last time out. There is hope he'll get some snaps with the second team this time around. That will hopefully give us an opportunity to offer a better evaluation of his progression.

Here's what we know so far. On Sunday, Oren Burks (knee), Grant Calcaterra (shoulder), Parris Campbell (groin), CJ Gardner-Johnson (shoulder), and Albert Okwuegbunam (abdomen) all sat out of Philly's 11th practice of camp. Mekhi Garner (hamstring), Patrick Johnson (lower leg contusion), and Brandon Smith (concussion) all worked but were limited in their participation.
