The Eagles have their hands full on Sunday, but we like their chances.

The NFC East-leading Philadelphia Eagles are home this week following three consecutive wins to begin the 2023 NFL regular season. The opponent is one their fans know well, a very pesky Washington Commanders squad.

This is the 177th meeting between these teams. The Commanders lead the all-time series by a 89-82-5 margin, but the Birds are favored to win in Week 4 on Sunday.

Here are a handful of reasons why we believe that to be true.

D'Andre Swift is averaging 152.5 yards per game over the past two contests.

305 yards rushing produced by D'Andre Swift over the past two weeks means the Philly native is just 312 rushing yards shy of eclipsing his career-best season total. That occurred in 2021 when he ran for 617 yards as a member of the Detroit Lions.

He's currently averaging 6.9 yards per carry. Something tells us this will be a monstrous year, especially when you consider that he's running behind the best offensive line in the NFL.

Keep that in mind when you watch the Birds do battle with the rival Washington Commanders on Sunday. Here are a few other zany stats/fun facts you'll also enjoy reading.
