Is Ques Watkins playing on Sunday? Latest injury update for Eagles vs Bills, Week 12
We'll be honest here. We don't watch a lot of Southern Miss Golden Eagles football. Actually, we don't watch any. With that being said, if we're being honest, one of the first memories we have of Quez Watkins was Daniel Jeremiah stating upon the Philadelphia Eagles' selection of him that he looked like a "speedboat pulling away from canoes".
Let's just say that much has changed since then.
Here we sit, more than three years after Philly drafted 'Fast Batman'. He's in the last year of his rookie deal. It seems unlikely that the Birds would extend him, but hey, what do we know?
We thought Derek Barnett would have been gone by now. This is his seventh season on the roster. Oh well... Let's talk about some injuries.
Quez Watkins injury status for Week 12 game against Bills
Fans are talking about Quez Watkins again after the Eagles announced on the eve of Thanksgiving that they're opening a 21-day practice window for him. Philly can now add him back to the active roster from the injured reserve at any time during the next three weeks.
If they don't, he'll return to the team's injured reserve where he'll remain for the rest of the season. Time's a ticking! We'll see what happens.
Quez Watkins injury history
Watkins was taken 200th overall during the 2020 NFL Draft. He was placed on injured reserve on September 6th of that year, given a 21-day practice window on September 29th, and was activated on October 10th. His first career touchdown pass came in Week 15 versus the Arizona Cardinals,
Since then, he has spent time on the COVID-19 list (December, 2021). He is recovering from a hamstring issue. We'll see how things go this week.
Who would Quez Watkins replace in the Eagles lineup?
Watkins began the 2023 Eagles season as the starting slot corner and figures to reassume his role if healthy. In his absence, that role has been filled by Olamide Zaccheaus and Julio Jones.
When is Quez Watkins coming back?
Again, the Eagles can activate Quez to the active roster at any point during the next 21 days. If he is able to return versus the Buffalo Bills, that would be helpful, but no one will know for sure until he is activated.
Philadelphia tends to be tight-lipped about these things.
