One of the things that fostered a successful 2022-2023 Philadelphia Eagles season was how fortunate they were with injuries. Often, their list was clean. Just as often, when it wasn't, guys made their way back to the field more often than not. So far, they've been tested a little more this time around.

Starters like Nakobe Dean, Reed Blankenship and James Bradberry have already missed time. The same can be said about key role players (Kenneth Gainwell). Guys that we hoped would contribute sit on the injured reserve,

Then, there's Fletcher Cox. He's dealing with a back issue. Oh boy... Those suck when you aren't playing football.

One of the core four and a team captain, news broke of a medical procedure. Here's an update on Number 91.

Fletcher Cox injury status for Week 5 game versus Los Angeles Rams

He doesn't miss many games. This will be his fourth in the past six seasons. One of his absences was a regular-season finale in Nick Sirianni's first season when he rested the starters after the team had qualified for postseason play.

He will, however, miss Week 5's game versus the L.A. Rams. We expect to see a lot of Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, and Milton Williams in his absence.

Fletcher Cox injury history

Cox has been fortunate throughout his career. When you play as long as he has, typically, the list of injuries can be longer, but he has been an iron man of sorts if you look past a Grade 1 pedal ankle sprain/pull in 2016, a concussion suffered in 2012, and leg calf strain he endured in 2017.

When is Fletcher Cox coming back?

The signs are positive. Cox isn't expected to miss more than one game, so it appears he'll be back in the lineup on October 15th versus Miami Dolphins. That's good news.

Have you seen the Fins' attack? The Birds will need all hands on deck for that one.
