Jalen Hurts, Grant Calcaterra, D'Andre Swift combine for fireworks shows and near touchdowns vs. Giants

The Eagles are having some fun on Christmas (and so are the fans).

The Philadelphia Eagles are rolling in the 1st half versus the hated New York Giants. We all needed that after what we've had to witness during the past three weeks of action. Here's your recap. The Birds won the opening coin toss. They deferred. A spectacular return by Britain Covey followed.

Just watch this one. Appreciate the beauty.

Later in the first quarter, with a 7-0 lead, a bad snap led to more magic. Trust us if you missed that one live, you'll want to check it out here.

Believe it or not, that was Grant Calcaterra's first reception of the season. He certainly made it one to remember, didn't he?

D'Andre Swift's grudge with the end zone continues.

In what's become a running joke, something in in the universe seems to be hell-bent on keeping D'Andre Swift out of the end zone. It's been maddening to watch.

With time expiring in the first, D'Andre Swift got in on the fireworks show. He produced one of the greatest near-touchdowns that you'll ever see, changing directions, making a few cuts, and showing off the balance. Unfortunately, his rushing TD didn't count,so there's no replay. There was a matter of his knee contacting the turf when he tried to change direction

At the time of this story's release, there's a ton of football to play, but we have had fun. So far, the Eagles look like... well... the Eagles. We needed that. We needed a 'get-right game'. This team has been tough to watch as of late.

Update: We have more fireworks.

Okay, we had to bring this one up. Check out this dime to DeVonta Smith from Jalen Hurts.
