Jalen Hurts questions the relevancy of peculiar training camp questioning

Truthfully, we have no issues with how Jalen Hurts answered the question. We're certain you're well aware of what question we are discussing.

At some point, we have to move on, right? There comes a time when we have to stop talking about the Philadelphia Eagles' collapse in 2023 and move on to 2024. Seriously... Are we the only people who are thinking about that?

Are we the only ones tired of being asked if Nick Sirianni and Jalen Hurts get along? Who else is ready to talk about some Xs and Os? Oh, trust us. We get it! There was a dead season in the news cycle, but we've seen ten training camp practices.

Philly plays the Baltimore Ravens on Friday. Why in the heck are we talking about last season. We thought it was just us, but then our QB1 stepped in front of a microphone.

Jalen Hurts questions the relevancy of some peculiar questioning.

Please don't hear what hasn't been said. Please don't read what hasn't been written. Don't take these next few statements for anything other than what they are. It's important that you do so.

We're fans of Tim McManus and Jeremy Fowler. If you aren't, you should be too. They're phenomenal, but their recent take on Jalen Hurts and Nick Sirianni had us scratching our heads. Why are we still discussing QB1 and the head coach's 'disconnect'?

They said they're fine, right? Okay... So, now we can talk about the Ravens and what's been going on at camp, right? No? What are we to gain from yet another take on rumored Eagles dysfunction?

Again, we get it. This is a popular topic. It takes months worth of detailed work to piece these types of stories together. People want to pull the curtain back and see behind the scenes. Some may even subscribe to the theory that this is all still intriguing a important because both guys are still here.

But, you'll have to forgive us. We're struggling from 'Hurst vs Sirianni' fatigue. If this storyline was retired, you wouldn't hear a peep out of us.

We thought it was us. We thought we were making too much out of this, but then, Hurts was asked about some old news, and he seemed just as exhausted.

What QB1 is referencing is a conversation he and former Giants defensive coordinator Wink Martindale shared last season. He and one of the great defensive minds we have seen spoke and discussed Jalen's game.

“I’ve been doing this for 40 years, and it’s the first time I’ve had an opposing quarterback call me up. I thought it was pretty cool that the guy called. It shows you what kind of pro he really is. He’s just looking at every angle that he can to get better.”

Those were Martindale's words. Okay, here's our question...

What's wrong with any of that?

Martindale continued. “It was very effective and he knew it, and he just wanted to know why we did certain things that we did. Then he went to work on that."

Again, there's nothing wrong with McManus and Fowler telling the story. Our only questions were about whether or not we needed that story now and whether a string of follow-up questions was necessary.

QB1 set an unofficial training camp record recently, consecutive passes without an interception. That would have been more fun to talk about, right?

Thank Eliot Shorr-Parks for continually providing the updates. But, in terms of the continued coverage of Hurts and Sirianni's coexistence, we don't know what to tell you. Hey, let's leave it here. It's training camp for the media members too.
