Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is the NFL's MVP. Place a period at the end of that sentence.

Ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles' recent home date with the Buffalo Bills, Jalen Hurts had the best odds to win the NFL's Most Valuable Player award. Just hours after Philly's dramatic come-from-behind overtime win, that hasn't changed much.

Per our friends at DraftKings, as of Monday, November 27th at noon, the Birds signal-caller has odds of +125 to win league MVP. Patrick Mahomes (+350), Lamar Jackson (+400), Tua Tagovailoa (+800), and Dak Prescott (+1000) round out the top five.

QB1 was magnificent in the Eagles' dramatic 37-34 walk-off win over Buffalo. Look no further than the game's final play if you need evidence.

Another game is in the books, and the Eagles are the first NFL team to win ten games this season. They can give a lot of credit to Jalen for that being the case. It's been a great season for a great team so far.

There's no need to continue splitting hairs. Jalen Hurts is the NFL's Most Valuable Player.

Jalen's most recent effort produced a QBR of 54.3 and a quarterback rating of 96.2. He completed 18 of his 31 pass attempts and produced 200 passing yards and three touchdown passes. He also racked up 65 yards and two TDs on 14 rush attempts. He also tossed an interception and lost a fumble, but as always, he was at his best when his best was needed.

Best throw

Speaking of 'being his best when his best was needed', try this one on for size. Third down... 15 yards are needed for a first down... The Eagles were trailing by three points early in the third quarter, That was the situation as Philly's offense made one of its best plays of the season so far.

Analysis

Who else remembers when the national narrative was Jalen Hurts couldn't do this? Who else remembers when Birds fans wanted Philly to draft Justin Fields to create competition or when the hope was an acquisition of Deshaun Watson or Russell Wilson was on the horizon?

We won't call anyone out by names. Just let it be known. We were the first to tell you we have ALWAYS believed in Philly's current QB1.

The Philadelphia Eagles became the first team to win ten games in 2023. Number 1 is a big reason for that being the case. The 49ers are the next step in the journey. If Hurts keeps doing what he is doing, Philly will keep winning. That's all you need to hear if you're a Birds fan.

Going forward, we may need to come up with another way to grade this guy though. QB1 keeps passing the test with flying colors. Oh well, we won't complain. The future MVP (yeah, we said it) earns straight As after this one.

  • Accuracy: A
  • Vision: A
  • Intangibles: A+
  • Decision-making: A+
  • Leadership: A+
