Jordan Davis has a new look and a huge opportunity in year three with the Eagles
They grow up so fast, don't they? It feels like it was just yesterday when we were almost certain that the Philadelphia Eagles would select Jordan Davis early during round one the 2022 NFL Draft. He just looked like the Howie Roseman choice, right. Six-foot-six inches tall... Well over 330 pounds... That screams of someone we'd expect to collapse a few pockets.
Philly traded up ahead of Baltimore (possibly for fear that he'd be their choice) to land him. They found their way onto the clock, and indeed, Davis was the choice. We blinked a few times, and now he's already in year three.
If our math is correct, we've heard him address the media twice this offseason. The most recent was following a training camp practice, but before the fourth, we noticed something as he took the field. Part of his trademark look is gone.
Jordan Davis has a new look, and hopefully a new groove, in year three with the Philadelphia Eagles.
It's amazing what we find interesting. Jordan Davis looks leaner and says he's better conditioned, but it's his hairstyle that sends shockwaves through social media on Monday.
Number 90 has elected to cut the dreads. As you might imagine, that didn't go unnoticed.
Everyone has their different opinions about this kind of thing, but most who are polled often state changes in hairstyle are their way of expressing 'there's a new beginning'. Well, it's year three for our D-tackle, and many are hoping this is the season in which he turns the corner. Surrounded by phenomenal teammates and with his buddy Jalen Carter by his side, that doesn't feel like an unreasonable option.
With his size and dedication to the game, Jordan looks the part of someone who can dominate. Now, fingers are crossed that he plays like someone who can dominate. We've seen him do so from time, but those moments haven't come as often as some would like from a guy with the size to be a force.
He now has two years of NFL experience in the memory bank to draw from. He was voted onto the Pro Football Writers Association's All-Rookie Team following his first year. He's solid. With a new D-line coach and with a legend in Fletcher Cox now retired, this is the year for a breakout, and honestly, we're expecting tons of big plays.
