Julio Jones turns the clock back with a phenomenal TD reception versus Commanders
Shortly after arriving at the NovaCare Complex as the then-newest member of the Philadelphia Eagles, wide receiver Julio Jones was asked about how many more great performances he had in the tank, how much he has left if you will. His answer shouldn't surprise anyone.
""(How much do I) have left??? You just keep watching. I ain't gonna make no expectations. Just keep watching, and I can show you. We'll revisit this question."
"My mindset is definitely to dominate. Don't get it twisted". Yeah... That's what he said. Julio may not be what he once was physically, but in Week 8, he found himself in a big spot during a big situation. The Birds were trying to capitalize on a Reed Blankenship interception. QB1 Jalen Hurts tossed one in the future Hall of Famer's direction.
The results were favorable. Give this one a look.
Jones finished his day with one catch... this one. He collected eight receiving yards, yet we feel he's deserving of a game ball. He won't reach the Pro Football Hall of Fame because of anything he does as a member of the Eagles, but his 64th TD grab was one to remember.
Why? It's simple. It had everything that made him so special in the first place.
Great hands... Phenomenal effort... Great body control... Completing the effort. He even took a violent shot to boot.
Julio Jones is one of the best to ever do it at his position. That's undeniable. Sure, it would have been nice to have had him on this Eagles roster about five years ago, but rest assured. No Birds fan will ever forget his Week 8 effort.
