The Philadelphia Eagles rolled with Kenneth Gainwell as their lead back in Week 1 of the 2023 season, but he won’t be in the lineup on Thursday Night Football against the Minnesota Vikings.

The Eagles will now turn to D’Andre Swift, Rashaad Penny, and Boston Scott to carry the load tonight.

Kenneth Gainwell injury status for Week 2 game against Minnesota Vikings

The Eagles have ruled running back Kenneth Gainwell out of their Week 2 game against the Vikings.

Best Eagles prop bet target with Kenneth Gainwell out in Week 2

D’Andre Swift UNDER 33.5 Rushing Yards

Just because Gainwell is out in Week 2, I don’t think D’Andre Swift will be the bell-cow back for the Eagles.

Gainwell paced the team in Week 1, carrying the ball 14 times for 54 yards. The Eagles made Rashaad Penny a healthy scratch in Week 1, but Swift still saw just one carry for three yards.

He should see more touches in Week 2, but it’s possible Penny or Boston Scott takes the bulk of the workload.

Figuring out Nick Sirianni’s backfield is impossible, so I’ll gladly fade Swift after he made little impact in Week 1.
