A laundry list of Eagles miss practice as another training camp week begins
Seven practice sessions at Philadelphia Eagles training camp are now in the books. Try not to blink because as we approach the first of three preseason games, the workweek will more closely mirror what we see during the typical week during the regular season.
We walked into the first Sunday of August knowing we'd see the first of four practice sessions in four days. Jeremiah Trotter and Moro Ojomo had great days. Several Birds sat out.
Seven Eagles miss a Sunday afternoon practice. Another is limited during the session.
As we close in on a Friday evening game versus the Baltimore Ravens, the practices are certain to become more intense. The competition will heat up in every position battle.
This is the second consecutive summer that the first preseason game will be played versus said Ravens. M&T Bank Stadium will provide the backdrop. The preparation for eight Eagles has hit a snag. They're injured which could mean they're behind schedule in terms of getting ready.

Offensive lineman Mekhi Becton (illness), linebacker Oren Burks (knee), wide receiver Parris Campbell (groin), O-lineman Tyler Steen (ankle), and linebacker Brandon Smith (concussion) all missed the Sunday morning session because of injury. Defensive backs Mehki Garner (hamstring) and Eli Ricks (illness) also sat out.
Cornerback Josh Jobe (concussion) was listed as 'limited'. Hopefully, everyone will be okay. The goal of every training camp and preseason is the same, get to the regular season with as many healthy bodies as possible. Philly has had to juggle bodies at every practice.
Injuries can't be avoided, but admittedly, we've never gotten comfortable with seeing them. The length of time in watching the game doesn't matter. Again, we hope everyone gets back on the playing field as swiftly as possible. We'll be monitoring everyone's progress closely.
