Maybe we're alone in this. Maybe we aren't, but die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fans have to feel like Rashaad Penny owes us one. We rewind the tape to the 2019 NFL season and present exhibit A in evidence. Yes, that was the day Philly lost at home to the Seahawks.

To make matters worse, Seattle's win was punctuated by a 58-yard sprint by Rashaad to the end zone. If memory serves us correctly, he added insult to injury by running over Ronald Darby at the 17-yard line.

Yeah... That was a bad day, and yes, Rashaad, you owe us one. We had nightmares about that run for two months.

Rashaad Penny lands on a list of the top ten backup running backs ahead of the coming Eagles season.

It's funny how things come full circle. Following five seasons in the Pacific Northwest, Rashaad Penny has traded one bird's nest for another. This season, his uniform is hanging in the home team's locker room and the Hawks will again visit Lincoln Financial Stadium.

It is expected that D'Andre Swift will start on this powerful Eagles offense. Rashad Penny, Kenneth Gainwell, and Boston Scott are all expected to make the team and complete the rest of the depth chart. Much is expected of Mr. Penny, even if he holds down a reserve role.

Recently, following the news of the Minnesota Vikings' decision to release Dalvin Cook,CBS Sports dropped a list of the game's top backup tailbacks. Rashaad cracked the list at number seven.

"Like (Elijah) Mitchell (he was ranked eighth), (Rashaad Penny) has been severely hampered by injuries, playing more than 10 games just once in five seasons. But the former first-rounder has all the physical tools as an explosive big man, flashing home-run ability in Seattle. Now working alongside D'Andre Swift and mobile quarterback Jalen Hurts, he could be in for a revival."

Cody Benjamin

Here's a recap of Benjamin's top ten.
1. A.J. Dillon, Green Bay Packers
2. Devin Singletary, Houston Texans
3. Tyler Allgeier, Atlanta Falcons
4. Jamaal Williams, New Orleans Saints
5. D'Onta Foreman, Chicago Bears
6. Jahmyr Gibbs, Detroit Lions
7. Rashaad Penny, Philadelphia Eagles
8. Elijah Mitchell, San Francisco 49ers
9. Jeff Wilson, Miami Dolphins
10. Latavius Murray, Buffalo Bills

Realistic expectations for Rashaad Penny:
Fingers are crossed that Rashaad Penny will be available for the full 18-week, 17-game grind of the coming Eagles season. History, however, tells us that won't happen.

He hasn't appeared in more than 14 games during any season of his NFL career, and that has happened since his rookie campaign. He was only available for three games in 2020 and five last season.

The hope is the rotation will help him out, but that remains to be seen. Expect production, but try and look at anything the Eagles get from him as a bonus. Prediction: 11 games, 66 carries, 350 yards rushing, 5.3 yards per carry, ten receptions, 100 receiving yards, ten yards per reception, five rushing TDs, one receiving TD
