Take a poll on Howie Roseman's perceived approval rating, and you'd never know that, just four years ago, some viewed him as public enemy number one in the City of Brotherly Love. Remember the 2020 NFL Draft? Boy! ... The 2020 draft... How could we forget what happened in that one and the sins of the Philadelphia Eagles GM?
Everything worked out. That is a testament to Howie's brilliance. Still, at the time, no one understood the decision to ignore Justin Jefferson for Jalen Reagor before taking a QB in Round 2.
Despite already having Carson Wentz on the roster, we learned Howie's idea, taking Jalen Hurts, was better than any other we had thought of. We just weren't prepared for that being the case.
It resembles the organization's plan to take Donovan McNabb over the favored Ricky Williams. The Birds knew what they were doing and most of the public didn't. Fast forward to the present, and even Roseman's mistakes work out well.
Had Philly taken Justin Jefferson, they certainly wouldn't have drafted DeVonta Smith a year later. Heck, they probably don't wind up with A.J. Brown.
Howie Roseman is deserving of respect, and he's been given plenty of it.
Remember a few years ago when Jeffrey Lurie said the Eagles had GMs in waiting as front-office members? Remember when we laughed at that? How did that work out? It appears that Philly knew what they were talking about (again), and the rest of us were in error.
Everyone keeps watching Philly's GM perform these magic tricks. Every organization wants a little of that magic for themselves. So, Howie's assistants are finding jobs annually. Good for them, but when you place your head on the pillow tonight, rest easy. Good ol' Howie isn't going anywhere.
Another decent free-agency push and draft has Howie in a well-deserved spotlight. Everyone wants to pick his brain. Everyone wants to talk about him on their social media accounts. Recently, he appeared on ESPN's Pat McAfee Show. Check out the highlights below.

"Our standards are really high and the season didn't end how we wanted it to..
We're encouraged by the people that we brought in and the people we still have here"

“If grades are the same, you look at your board, it’s vertical and horizontal. If you have the same grades on guys, you start getting into other factors. Character, mentality, position. All those things check out with him.”

If you watched Howie Roseman closely at the draft this weekend, you would have noticed a blue pin on his lapel all three nights.

That was a Stand Up to Jewish Hate pin from the Foundation to Combat Antisemitism. Roseman made it a point to wear it throughout the draft. pic.twitter.com/zIE4aPtuwH

The Eagles were the biggest winner of the NFL draft. It was an absolute masterclass by Howie Roseman.

What else needs to be said? Here's where we'll leave this.
There may not be a better social media team than the one the Eagles employ. The recent episode of Unscripted is phenomenal. It offers behind-the-scenes access into Philly's draft war room.
