NFC East Power Rankings: Eagles remain in an astounding position after the bye
The NFC East has been handed several unofficial names over the years. We've heard it deemed 'The Money Division'. There was the 'NFC Least' thing during times of travail. Once upon a time, if we're not mistaken, we even think we hear the term 'Glamour Division'.
The Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Washington Commanders, and New York Giants are four of the most popular teams in football. All have won Super Bowls. All are followed by rabid fan bases though Commanders support waned at times during their nightmare we refer to as the Daniel Snyder era.
All four teams entered the regular season seeking validation even though we knew there was no way every team would find it. Washington is hot. Everyone else probably wishes they could hit a reset button. Unfortunately, that isn't how it works though.
Philly sat the NFL's fifth week of action out while everyone else took the field for action.
were all victorious.
The Birds return to work this week. Their next opponent is the Cleveland Browns. A win will help steady the ship. With over a month of the 2024-25 regular season behind us, we stack the 'Money Division'.

4. New York Giants
We were reminded of a tiny nugget when we looked this up, but Brian Daboll is 0-5 versus the Cowboys. He came close in Week 4, but alas, there is still no cigar. This team will again find themselves selecting early on the first night of the next NFL Draft.
3. Philadelphia Eagles
Philly still has the best odds to win the NFC East on most sportsbooks. We believe that, and we believe they will. Unfortunately, they don't look good now.
They are potentially the best team in this division. They're stacked, but games aren't won on paper. They'll rise on this list at some point, but we list them third for now because we truly believe if they had to play the Commanders or Cowboys tomorrow, they'd lose to either opponent.
Stay tuned!
2. Dallas Cowboys
Dallas's defense can be run on, by just about anyone, and we know they'll collapse come playoff time. But, we know one thing about the Cowboys if we don't know anything else. They can hang on the field with just about anyone... during the regular season.
We don't like anyone who wears that jersey. That being said, we don't want to give Dak Prescott any credit, but he's a B-plus quarterback.
He's good enough to win in this league. He has proven that time and time again. This season, however, doubles as the best opportunity Philly has had to beat him since 2017.
1. Washington Commanders
Things couldn't have gone much better than they have for the Commanders with five weeks in our rearview mirror. They had a decision to make last April. Would Drake Maye or Jayden Daniels be their draft choice? It appears they made the correct decision.
Daniels is the real deal. He's a star in the making. Washington has a lot to look forward to.
Don't look now, but they're alone atop the division after five weeks, and by the looks of things, a postseason appearance is highly likely.
