Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts is the overwhelming favorite to win NFL MVP after leading Philadelphia to a 37-34 comeback win in overtime on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.

Hurts is +125 to win league MVP, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (+350) and Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson (+400) have the second and third-best odds. The 25-year-old quarterback got off to a slow start in Sunday afternoon’s game against the Bills.

Buffalo held Hurts to 4-of-11 passing for 33 yards and an interception. They also did a good job of not allowing the dynamic dual threat to escape the pocket, as Hurts only had 22 rushing yards and a touchdown.

However, with the Eagles down 17-7 at the half, Hurts put on his Superman cape and erupted with a massive second-half performance. He threw for 167 yards and three touchdown passes while rushing for the game-winning touchdown in overtime.

It was a masterful performance by the young quarterback, who led the Eagles to their fourth straight comeback win in as many weeks. Hurts has played outstanding in the second half over the last four contests, completing 71% of his passes for 449 yards, seven touchdowns, and zero interceptions with a 142.1 rating, per Jeff Kerr of CBS Sports.com

Overall, Hurts is completing 68.4% of his passes for 876 yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions in his last four games. He also has 136 rushing yards and five touchdowns. If he was going to make a run at MVP this season after falling short last season, Hurts needed to play well against the Cowboys, Bills, Chiefs, 49ers, and Seahawks.

Thus far, the former second-round pick has passed the first few tests against Dallas, Buffalo, and Kansas City. However, Hurts will have to do it again against a 49ers defense that features Nick Bosa, Chase Young, and Fred Warner.

The Eagles can’t fall behind against the 49ers on Sunday, which has been a common theme over the last few weeks. However, if that were to happen, the Eagles know they have a quarterback who is not phased by the bright lights.
