You won't ever hear any fibs told on this platform. Here's about as honest as we can be with you, Never in a million years did we think we'd be using the words 'late-game heroics' after the first Philadelphia Eagles preseason game. We certainly didn't think that we'd be doing so after their second, yet here we are.

For the second time in as many weeks, Philly erased a fourth-quarter deficit. This come-from-behind victory wasn't as anti-climactic as the first, but we can certainly see some confidence growing in our Birds. In the end, that's the most important thing.

The Eagles' game-winning offense drive and two-point conversion deserves one more look.

So, let's set the stage here. Tanner McKee and Philly's offense took the field facing a 13-6 deficit and 70 yards of turf separating them from a go-ahead score. There was about 7:36 remaining on the game clock, and even if they crossed the goal-line, they'd need to make good on a two-point conversion to take the lead.

They got it done!

Seven plays would be all that they'd need. They took 3:20 off of the game clock. Tanner McKee completed seven of ten pass attempts on the drive and hammered out a 90.4 rating.

A short three-yard pass to Kevin Foelsch would set the Birds up with 2nd and goal from the Pats' one-yard line. Kendall Milton's TD plunge would bring the Eagles within one point. Philly would elect to go for two points to take the lead. A successful toss from McKee to Ainias Smith would make that happen.

Check out the visuals.

The NFL shared a cool sideline view of the two-point conversion on social media.

Good for Ainias. He has had a tough training camp and saw a rough preseason debut. It was nice to see him have a good moment in that scenario. There was still this minor issue about putting the Patriots away.

New England would get the ball two more times during the final 4:13 of game time. They'd go three and out on the first possession and fumble on their final possession.

Yep! That was nice!

Philly leaves Foxborough with a 14-13 win. Again, it may not have been as exciting a finish as the one we saw versus the Ravens, but a win is a win... even if it doesn't count. Trust us on this one though. This will make for a nice flight home to Philly.
