With only two weekends remaining, the Eagles are one step closer to winning the NFC East.
The Philadelphia Eagles won a gross-looking game in Week 16. That's okay. It was enough to place them back at the top of the NFC East. A division title is still in sight.
Also, in Week 16, we saw the Washington Commanders lose to a Trevor Siemian-led New York Jets squad via a walk-off field goal. We also saw the Dallas Cowboys have their hearts torn out by the Miami Dolphins in a similar fashion. The Fins knocked a walk-off field goal of their own through the uprights, meaning the Birds were the only NFC East team to enjoy a win.
The Cowboys gifted Eagles fans a great Christmas weekend.
With the Cowboys' Week 16 loss, the Eagles' chances of clinching the division improve as we head into another weekend. The standings are now as follows:
Team | Record |
---|---|
Eagles | 11-4 |
Cowboys | 10-5 |
Giants | 5-10 |
Commanders | 4-11 |
The Cowboys are playing on Saturday night, so we’ll be able to watch that game. The Giants and Commanders, like Philly, are playing at 1 p.m. EST on Sunday, so luckily, we won’t have to watch those games.
