Only in Philly... Nick Sirianni has led the hometown Philadelphia Eagles to an impressive 36-18 record during his first 54 games as head coach. That's a .667 winning percentage. That's also tops among active NFL head coaches. Nobody cares much about that right now.

That might be good enough to keep your job in Charlotte, but the City of Brotherly Love is another animal. Then again, you never know. David Tepper has been a maniac in Charlotte, but you get what we're saying. Philly is a tough spot to play in.

Here we sit. The Birds are 2-1. They and the Washington Commanders sit atop the NFC East. No Eagles enthusiast is satisfied, and why would they be?

Nick Sirianni shares his most recent take on the Eagles' offensive play calling 'collaborative' process.

There's some fear among the Birds contingent. Nick Sirianni isn't a very good situational or X's and O's head coach. His decision-making has been horrible.

That seemingly wouldn't be an issue if the plan was to give Kellen Moore exclusivity in offensive play calling. After all, that's what we were told the plan would be.

Fast forward to the present, and the word of the week has been 'collaborative'. Fans, the media, and radio personalities alike can't stop discussing his occasional input on scheme.

This has been discussed all week since Philly's win in New Orleans. Two failed plays, both credited to Sirianni's input, have been on collective minds all week.

In the first, Philly gambled on a fourth-down attempt late in the second quarter. Coach eschewed an easy Jake Elliott field-goal attempt as the first half neared its close. Saquon Barkley was stopped while running parallel to the offensive line. Later, Sirianni gave Jake a chance to drill a field goal attempt... from 60 yards out. Unfortunately, Jake couldn't convert (But, we aren't blaming him).

There's fear that Coach Sirianni will make some unforgivable decision that will cost the Eagles a win they can't bounce back from, maybe the playoffs. He almost cost them a win in New Orleans vs. the Saints, and seemingly the bone-headed decisions come more frequently. Recently, he discussed this collaborative approach to play calling.

Nick Sirianni explains the collaborative play-calling process... Thoughts?

They call those 'word salads'... Long answers... Not much was said that will satisfy anyone... But, credit Coach for answering the question. 'Passengers' typically don't reach for the steering wheel.

We get it. He's the head coach. He wants to place his stamp on wins and losses. Any good head coach would, but the Eagles are seemingly making things happen on offense despite Nick Sirianni and not because of him.

That's a scary thought to process. This is a long NFL season, and something tells us this conversation isn't over.
