One rookie to watch at each position during Eagles training camp

The Eagles' roster is loaded, but there's hope they'll find gems among their rookies. Here's who you will need to watch at each position during training camp.

Okay, we cheated and named more than one, but you're going to have to pay close attention to three rookies at cornerback.

Darius Slay and James Bradberry are two of the best players at the game at their position. They'll start outside for Philly again in 2023. There's just one issue, if you can call it that. Bradberry will be 30 years old when the season starts, and Darius Slay will be well past his 32nd birthday (he turns 33 on New Year's Day).

The Birds are approaching gridlock at the position. They'll more than likely carry six players at the position, and with Slay, Bradberry, and Avonte Maddox assured of roster spots, there are eight guys in competition for three more spots.

Mario Goodrich, Josh Jobe, Zech McPhearson, Greedy Williams, and Josiah Scott are the veterans. Here are three rookies who are hoping to earn their spot on the team, and something tells us that one of them may be safe during final cuts.

Kelee Ringo

As a fourth-round selection made by Philadelphia during the most recent selection meeting, there are no guarantees that Kelee Ringo's career will produce fireworks, but you can best believe every Eagles fan is cheering for him.

He's a two-time College Football Playoff National Championship winner and a 2022 Second-Team All-SEC nod. Let's hope all of that success follows him to the pro game.

Eli Ricks

Last September, former Alabama star Josh Jobe was one of three undrafted rookies that made the roster. Eli Ricks transferred to The Tide after Jobe's departure. He'll be looking to make the team as a UDFA as well. Neither guy is promised anything.

Mekhi Garner

As Ricks transferred from LSU to Bama, Mekhi Garner was leaving the Sun Belt's Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns to join the Bayou Bengals in Baton Rouge. Garner has shown upside and tremendous talent for the cornerback position, but he hasn't intercepted a pass since 2020. Ricks hasn't picked one off since 2021.

We're going to assume that both will need to make some big plays during training camp and during the preseason. That might be the only way they catapult themselves onto the roster.

Here are a handful of other Eagles stories to keep you busy.
