Could this be the year that the Philadelphia Eagles return to the mountaintop?

After reaching the Super Bowl in the 2022 season, Philadelphia comes back with a loaded roster in 2023 with one goal in mind: win the whole thing.

Jalen Hurts and company have +800 odds to win Super Bowl 58, and it makes sense given all of the pieces the team either kept – or added – from last season’s team.

BetSided’s NFL betting expert Iain MacMillan shared his favorite futures bet for the Eagles in the 2023 campaign, but we have you covered with a whole breakdown of some of key projections.

The Eagles went 14-3 in the 2022 season, and while that may be tough to repeat, oddsmakers are certainly high on this squad entering the 2023 season. For Eagles fans and bettors, here’s how you should proceed when looking at the team’s outlook in the futures market:

Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl 58 odds

Only the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs (+600) have shorter odds to win the Super Bowl than the Eagles.

That’s a great sign for Philly’s outlook, especially since  the NFC looks to be the weaker conference in the 2023 campaign.

Philadelphia Eagles win total prediction for the 2023 season

Philadelphia finished with 14 wins in the 2022 season, yet oddsmakers expect them to actually go UNDER their win total projection of 11.5 in 2023 given the odds on each side of the bet.

I’m not sure I see it the same way.

Sure, Philly now has to play a first-place schedule, but the team returned most of its key pieces from the 2022 season.

Key Eagles offseason moves

  • Re-signed center Jason Kelce
  • Agreed to new contract with cornerback Darius Slay
  • Drafted defensive tackle Jalen Carter
  • Agreed to three-year deal with cornerback James Bradberry
  • Traded for running back D’Andre Swift
  • Agreed to deal with running back Rashaad Penny
  • Agreed to deal with defensive end Brandon Graham
  • Signed defensive tackle Fletcher Cox to a one-year deal

Sure, Philadelphia did lose running back Miles Sanders in free agency, but it more than made up for that with the additions of Penny and Swift.

Hurts is only going to get better after nearly winning the MVP award in the 2022 season, and the Eagles’ veteran core is one of the best in the NFL.

I think there is some value in taking the OVER on the team’s win total this season.

Best Philadelphia Eagles season-long prop bet

Jalen Hurts OVER 700.5 rushing yards (-110)

Hurts is +400 to lead the league in rushing yards from the quarterback position, but I like his season-long prop at DraftKings Sportsbook even more.

The Eagles have been a dominant offensive line in recent seasons, and Hurts has done a great job picking his spots as a runner.

Over his last two seasons as the team’s starter, Hurts has rushed for 784 and 760 yards to go with a combined 23 touchdowns.

What is most impressive about those numbers is that Hurts only played in 15 games in each of those seasons.

That’s right, he cleared 700.5 rushing yards while missing two games! That makes this a no-brainer prop for me in the 2023 season.

I expect the Eagles to continue running the same offense they did in 2022, and the better Hurts becomes as a passer, the more he’s going to have the option to tuck the ball and run for chunk gains.

Considering his volume (139 carries in 2021, 165 carries in 2022), Hurts is a great bet to push 800 yards this season if he plays all 17 games. The OVER on this prop is by far my favorite season-long prop for the Eagles in 2023.
