Is Jalen Hurts the 2020 Eagles draft class's only saving grace?

The 2020 NFL Draft added ten Birds to the roster. Four now play in other cities: Jalen Reagor, Prince Tega Wanogho, John Hightower, and Casey Toohill. Six of the ten draftees are still on the squad. That's actually a nice hit rate. Unfortunately, the only star in the bunch is Jalen Hurts. Some say he's the class's only saving grace.

We'd disagree. Jack Driscoll is a nice depth piece along the offensive line, one that suffered injuries during his first two seasons. He has been good when called upon. Quez Watkins didn't take the step forward that we hoped he would last season, but he's good enough to bounce back with some coaching.

That brings us to Davion Taylor, Shaun Bradley, and K'Von Wallace. We may be approaching 'now or never' territory. We wouldn't be surprised if they made the 53-man roster. We wouldn't be surprised if they were cut. All three have a lot riding on the coming summer.

Seriously? the Eagles aren't going to acquire another safety?

The expectation is the Eagles will carry about five safeties on the initial 53-man depth chart. That's normally their business model, but if that's the case, everyone they currently employ is making the team.

Some believe that, even with the current lineup, this unit lacks some sizzle. We'd disagree. Terrell Edmunds, Reed Blankenship, K'Von Wallace, Justin Evans, and Sydney Brown might be better than they're being billed, Still, one more move here could put this group in another stratosphere, even if that means someone else is forced to walk.

Howie Roseman traded for C.J. Gardner-Johnson on August 30th. Don't be shocked if another move is announced.
