Kenneth Gainwell, Running Back

While still expected to be a vital part of the offense, Kenneth Gainwell could see his production slide due to factors outside of his control. Despite the departure of Miles Sanders in free agency, the Eagles added both D'Andre Swift and Rashad Penny this offseason.

Penny's role does not affect Gainwell for the most part, aside from taking away a few snaps. He is an in-between-the-tackles bruiser that the Eagles will rely upon in short-yardage situations, something Gainwell was not going to do in the first place.

Yet, Swift's presence will affect Gainwell's production. Swift is one of the most talented all-around running backs the Eagles have had in a long time, being able to carry the ball effectively and become a dangerous threat in the passing game. He arguably has the same type of skillset as Gainwell, but has a bit more size and is more athletic.

Add Boston Scott into the equation too, and the odds of Gainwell netting 646 all-purpose yards and five touchdowns again is low. He will still be a key part of the offense, but it will most likely be in a more complimentary role.
