Popular Philly sports show annihilates Jalen Hurts after his most recent presser

Eagles fans can often find themselves on opposite ends of a few spectrums, but one of Philly's most popular radio shows seems to be aligned after a recent Jalen Hurts statement.

They say every story has three sides, two opposing views, and the truth. What's funny is the author of that theory, senior vice president of Paramount Pictures, Robert Evans wasn't mentioning social media or Philadelphia Eagles fans when he said it. Perhaps he should have been.

There are times when it's easy to state that Eagles fans are the most knowledgeable in all of sports. Well, that's how it used to be. Then, social media exploded, truth gave way to misinformation, and the comment section all but killed most of the faith we once had in the Bird Gang and the ramblings of trolls.

Don't get us wrong. Some of you guys are cool, but many of you make us want to rip our insides out. So, now, we ignore direct messages and responses to posts. You guys can wallow in the negativity alone.

And, rather than respond too quickly, we take a day or two to get our thoughts together. Yep! We're still thinking about Jalen Hurts' most recent presser.

94 WIP-FM's morning show pulls no punches in their discussion about a recent Jalen Hurts take.

Okay, there are several ways we can frame this. There is a part of our thinking that states, if we want inside access, sometimes, we're going to have to accept hearing things that could have been said better.

There's also a side of our thinking that says any professional athlete who positions himself in front of a microphone should already know that, so they should be more careful about what they say. If you missed it, QB1 of the Philadelphia Eagles answered a question recently that some believe painted pictures of an unhealthy relationship between him and Nick Sirianni.

Jalen Hurts spoke with select members of the Philly media during mandatory minicamp. He was asked what some thought was a lay-up-style question.

"What have you noticed about Nick being open-minded to change up the offense like he has? What does that say about him?”

Some were puzzled by the response... “Um, I mean, that’s a great question. I don’t know that I know the answer to it.”

Things only got more puzzling from there...

Another question followed... “Well, what have you seen from him as far as doing that?”... Jalen's response... “Um, I think he’s been great in the messages he’s delivering to the team. Trying to be very intentional in what he’s saying. Yeah.”

In the media world, there exists this thing called a 'word salad'. Guys say a lot and, at the same time, say nothing. Much of the feedback from this exchange, however, has been looked upon unfavorably by many. Regardless of what your opinion is, you have to understand why that's the case, even if you think it shouldn't be.

94 WIP-FM's highly popular Morning Show with Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie took the opportunity to weigh in. Leave it to 'The Hammer' to pull no punches, going so far as to say Jalen "acted like a baby last week"... Ouch!

Check out 94 WIP-FM's write-up when you have a moment. Audio is included. Fast forward to the 15-minute mark to give the discussion on Jalen's comments a listen.

Questions have floated around about whether Jalen respects Nick Sirianni, whether or not they simply tolerate each other, or whether they get along in any manner. Both, for the most part, have been professional, but this recent take by Philly's QB1 has some scratching their heads... and more agreeing with DeCamara.

“What a pathetic and disgraceful way to answer a question... I think Lurie and Howie are ticked, as they should be.” ... Again, all we can say is ouch...

DeCamara continued:

“Jalen just did a horrible job with his answer... I think Lurie is probably really, really ticked. Jeffrey Lurie decided to stand by Nick Sirianni and chose to have him as coach of a football team with championship aspirations. For the quarterback to act that way - to me, last week, I thought Jalen acted like a baby with the way he answered that question. I think he's playing with some fire.

Could Jalen have framed his words differently? Sure he could have, but smoke hasn't led to any real fires here. Truthfully, there's a chance that it won't. Still, this may not be the last time this discussion is visited. Stay tuned as we approach training camp.
