Potential Eagles 2024 free-agent targets with ties to Kellen Moore

Might the Eagles pursue anyone in free agency that Kellen Moore has already worked with?

Gerald Everett, tight end

Tight end Gerald Everett is potentially seeking his fourth home since entering the NFL in 2017. He has played as a member of both of the Los Angeles franchises, most recently the Chargers during the 2022 and 2023 NFL seasons which is how he crossed paths with more this past season.

The Grant Calcaterra thing isn't working out, and the Eagles have nothing behind Dallas Goedert if their tight end goes down with an injury for some time. As you know that's happened in each of the past two NFL seasons.

Everett has only eclipsed 500 yards once in seven seasons. His career-high for TD receptions is four, and he's only done that twice (2021 and 2022). He is someone worth eyeing though.

Tony Pollard, running back

While we realize Tony Pollard's previous affiliation will probably turn many of you off, he might be the best free-agent running back once you get past the expensive guys (Saquon Barkley, Josh Jacobs, and Derrick Henry). Truthfully, we'd probably even slot him ahead of Austin Ekeler.

The Dallas Cowboys decided they'd make him a workhorse in 2023. That wasn't wise, nor did it work. Toward the end of the season, he looked like he needed a few weeks off. That being said, he could pay huge dividends as part of a committee system, but teaming him with Kenneth Gainwell would mean Philly would still need another option at the position.
