Potential Eagles 2024 free-agent targets with ties to Vic Fangio
P.J. Locke, safety
Most of us were introduced to P.J. Locke in 2020 when the Denver Broncos signed him as an undrafted rookie free agent. Vic Fangio was the head coach at that time.
During the three seasons he spent with Fangio in Denver (2019-2021), Locke played mostly on special teams, but he's familiar with the scheme. He also filled in admirably when Kareem Jackson missed time in Denver this season.
He learned much while playing on the other side of the defensive formation from Pro Bowl safety Justin Simmons. Here's another nugget. Christian Parker was Locke's position coach from 2021 to 2023, but he's joining Philly this season to serve in the same role.
Worth mentioning: Robert Hunt, guard
Okay, so Robert Hunt wasn't directly coached by Fangio, but both were both part of the Fins' organization in 2023. Despite dedicating a lot of attention to the defensive side of the ball in this discussion, it seems smart to shine some of the spotlight on this six-foot-six and 335-pound monster.
Hunt can play both guard positions and do so admirably. The price tag may be too rich for Philly's blood, but you know the old saying. Teams can never have too many capable linemen, He could be someone worth watching if Jason Kelce retires and Philly begins moving pieces around.
