Joy comes with knowing you're the best at something. There's an equally satisfying feeling of accomplishment that is birthed when someone knows they have given everything to represent their home country with their time and talent. Annually, the Special Olympics provide such opportunities for extraordinary young men and women from every area of the globe.

They have done it again! More than 50.000 athletes, their coaches, families, volunteers, and supporters converged on Olympiastadion, Berlin on June 17th to begin the festivities at this year's games. We'd love to introduce you to one of the participants.

Meet Powerlifter Charlie Phillips. Guess what? He's a member of the most loyal contingent in all of sports. He's a Philadelphia Eagles fan and a member of the Bird Gang!

Powerlifter Charlie Phillips shares his Special Olympics experience and his love for Eagles football on ESPN's Get Up.

The Special Olympics... Charlie Phillips... Eagles football... Former Birds quarterback Tim Tebow (Hey, he wasn't here long, but he's one of us). What more could we ask for?

Recently, Charlie Phillips shares his Special Olympics experience and a cool story on ESPN's highly popular Get Up morning show. He got to hang out with Andy Reid. Guess what he told him.

If that doesn't get you out of your seat and make you stand up and cheer, you may want to check your pulse. I'm with Tim on this one though. I don't think I have ever been able to deadlift 501 pounds or squat 410 pounds at any juncture of my existence. Heck, if we're being honest, I don't think I ever will either.

The Special Olympics dates back to 1968 and began as a backyard summer camp that was intended to topple barriers and end discrimination against people with intellectual disabilities. It has become a global phenomenon that celebrates so many young men and women while creating a community that helps countless individuals build confidence and help each other realize their full potential.
It doesn't get much better than that.

Congratulations to Charlie Phillips. If these words never land in front of him, we'd still like him to know that we share his love for Eagles football, and we're fans of his as well. Something tells us the City of Brotherly Love and the NFL team that represents them can agree on that. We wish him luck in all of his endeavors.
