Proper evaluation is still possible despite Eagles vs. Ravens weather concerns
This is much more fun than we had a month ago. News seemingly breaks about our Philadelphia Eagles hourly, and lookey here! We're within hours of the first preseason game. How long have we waited to say that?
The opponent is familiar. Philly often tackles the Baltimore Ravens during the preseason. They did so last year. That was also in the first game of action.
The Ravens take these games seriously. The Eagles not so much, but neither team will be giving this one their best shot.
Lamar Jackson won't play, and both sides figure to give us extended looks at the reserves.

What to Watch for in Steelers vs. Ravens Game
The game doesn't count, but we're intrigued. It's football. Who cares if we won't remember the final score?
This will allow many reserves and fringe guys an opportunity to climb the depth chart and impress their coaches. The weather won't provide perfect conditions, but football isn't always played in perfect conditions.
Coaches should still be able to make appropriate evaluations. After all, NFL QBs should be able to throw a spiral through wind and rain, right?
