Ranking Eagles' QB room versus every other NFC East team

The Philadelphia Eagles have arguably the best quarterback room in the NFC East, but do they have the best core in the division, and if so, where does everyone else rank?

4. Washington Commanders

If there is one word that could describe the Washington Commanders' quarterback room, it is 'average'. They haven't had a true consistency at the position since Kirk Cousins left. Case Keenum, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Carson Wentz, Taylor Heinecke, Sam Howell, Dwayne Haskins, and Alex Smith have all had an opportunity to spend time in the starter's chair.

Howell showed promise at the end of last season. Washington began gaining momentum with 2020 XFL standout Taylor Heinicke, but he left in free agency this offseason and is now a member of the Atlanta Falcons.

The Commanders signed journeyman quarterback Jacoby Brissett on March 16th. He most recently held down the fort for the Cleveland Browns as their starter while Deshaun Watson served a suspension. He and Howell will battle for the starter's role. Jake Fromm and undrafted rookie Tim Demorat are also on the roster and in the mix.

Howell seems to be the Commanders' long-term plan at the moment. He won his first start versus the Dallas Cowboys in Washington's season finale last January and has shown promise, but if the Commanders fail and end up with a top pick in next year's NFL Draft, don't be surprised if USC's Caleb Williams or UNC's Drake Maye end up wearing burgundy and gold to start the 2024 season.
