Ranking the Eagles top 5 free-agent signings of the Nick Sirianni era so far
Since 2021, when Nick Sirianni took over as the Philadelphia Eagles head coach, there has been an abundance of free-agent pickups. However, GM Howie Roseman has often missed the mark when adding veteran talent via free agency. He is more well known for his success in acquiring talent through trades.
That's been an Achilles heel in his roster-building strategy. Fortunately for all of us, he has acquired top players like A.J. Brown, C.J. Gardner Johnson, and Kevin Byard through trades in recent years. That has helped keep Philly relevant.
Many free agents have been added. but when it came down to ranking the top five, let’s just say there were slim pickings. All of the free-agent signings for the Eagles in the Sirianni era thus far are listed below. This list includes players who actually saw the field (except for Isaiah Rodgers) and does not include re-signings.

That's a huge list. Now, let's narrow it down and pick the top 5 best free-agent signings since 2021:
5. Isaiah Rodgers, Cornerback
Before the 2023 regular season began, the Eagles swooped in and rescued Isaiah Rodgers after he was waived by the Colts in June and suspended for the entire season by the NFL for violating their gambling policy. He will be back for the start of the 2024 season.
Off-field drama aside, Rodgers is a young corner with top speed. Drafted in 2020, the Colts liked him for his quickness and ability to make plays. Rodgers runs a 4.28-second 40-yard dash. That's faster than Tyreek Hill's time. Rodgers can double as a returner as well, adding value to special teams.
The Eagles need young talent at cornerback and more speed. Rodgers still has a lot to prove, but he will be very useful to the defense's future if he can perform.
