Ranking NFL Draft edge rushers who could provide immediate contributions to the Eagles
3. Chris Braswell, Alabama Crimson Tide
Dallas Turner is so good that he makes people forget about Chris Braswell. Those people shouldn't, but we get it. Fear not. Having great teammates will in no way jeopardize Braswell's draft status as we inch closer to the end of April.
He stands at six-foot-three, maybe six-foot-four. He weighs 255 pounds. He's an athletic freak who is both sudden and strong. We think he's a late first-round selection.
2. Laiatu Latu, UCLA Bruins
Some of you may have Laiatu Latu ahead of Jared Verse on your lists. We totally get that if you have. Both are freakish athletes. Both are destined for long NFL careers barring injury.
Speaking of injuries, Latu has seen some medical concerns. He missed both the 2020 and 2021 seasons as a result. Neck issues seem to be a part of that. He came on strong in 2022 and 2023 racking 85 tackles and 23.5 sacks over the final 25 games of his career.
He's seemingly fully recovered and on a collision course with becoming a first-round draft choice.
1. Jared Verse, Florida State Seminoles
For our money, Jared Verse is the best pass rusher not named Dallas Turner. We may carry that theory for a while after the show he put on at the NFL Combine and after the 41 tackles and nine sacks he collected before that.
Sure, some of his production came versus weaker competition. Virginia Tech and Wake Forest come to mind, but we like him a lot as should everyone else.
Oh, and by the way, the last time the Eagles took a pass rusher from FSU, Josh Sweat, things worked out very well.
