5. Safety

They brought in Andrew Adams, Anthony Harris, Blake Countess, and Obi Melifonwu in 2021. Last year, they re-signed Anthony Harris and brought in Jaquiski Tartt before eventually trading for C.J. Gardner-Johnson. This time around, they drafted Sydney Brown after signing Justin Evans and Terrell Edmunds. Something tells us Wallace will make the team though (even though Philly clearly isn't sold on him).

Edmunds is expected to start alongside Reed Blankenship, one of three undrafted rookies that made the initial 53-man roster this past offseason. Wait! Does that mean Evans is now in some hot water?

From the outside looking in, it appears this unit will enter the regular season as currently constructed. There are only five safeties on the current roster. That's the number we think we'll see on the 53-man squad.

Still, if there is a late offseason addition (no one would complain if that happened), one could argue that Wallace or Reid could be left off of the team. For that reason, we rank this as the fifth most intriguing roster battle, slightly ahead of Tanner McKee's battle with Ian Book for the QB3 role and the war between Can Jurgens and Tyler Steen for starting right guard.
