4. Defensive tackle

Earlier, we mentioned that we had a decent grasp of what the top of the depth chart might look like. We were thinking about the interior of the defensive line when making that statement.

Fletcher Cox, Jordan Davis, and Jalen Carter will make this roster. It feels like Milton Williams has done enough to be the fourth guy, but who knows what the new defensive coordinator thinks. Let's say the Birds keep four defensive tackles, or, at the most, five. What does that mean for Kentavius Street, Noah Elliss, Marlon Tuipulotu, and Moro Ojomo? Are we discussing the possibility of four guys battling for one roster spot? And, about Street... Can he play outside at defensive end if need be?

It feels like Tuipulotu and Ojomo have the leg up. The former has battled injury but has been a part of this team for two seasons. The latter was Philly's final draft choice. They won't be given their spots. They'll have to earn them, but this is one of those position groups you'll want to watch as the competition gets tight and Philly begins trimming the 90-man preseason roster down to the league-mandated 53-man regular-season unit.
